Housed in the historic State Theatre—a venue for live performance for over 100 years—Bay Street Players is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1974.
The theatre presents no less than five main stage productions each year, supplemented by a regular schedule of limited-engagements, benefits, and other special events. Bay Streets Players is committed to educating students young and old by offering the opportunity to learn in a live production environment through the Young People’s Theatre program—among the longest running youth theatre education initiatives in the nation—and by welcoming volunteers of varied skill sets seeking to grow.
It is with deep sadness that the Bay Street Players family has learned of the untimely loss of one of our own, Rachael “Rose” Morgan Cain. From an early age, she was an active member of Bay Street Players and a graduate of the Young People’s Theatre program. She was a talented singer, actress, and comedian who moved to New York City after graduating from the University of Florida to pursue a career in the arts and is known in the community as “Rose Morgan.”
Our hearts extend to her family, friends, and all who knew this wonderful woman.
At the request of her family, a fund has been set up in her name to support Bay Street Players and the Young People’s Theatre program. To make a contribution in her memory, click here.
