Bay Street Players is pleased to announce YOUNG PEOPLE’S SPRING ENROLLMENT!

“Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.”

For the 2026 Summer Musical, students will have the opportunity to not only develop their skills as actors and performers but will work together as a cast to rehearse and put on a fully staged musical. Camp will take place at the historic State Theater in Eustis from July 6th through August 2nd, 2026. Students will meet Monday through Friday from 9:00am until 5:00pm.

From 9:00am-12:00pm, students will break out into a variety of master theatre classes led by seasoned directors, actors, teachers, and artisans from across the region for specialized training and lessons in a variety of theatrical techniques: monologue and audition preparation, vocal coaching, stage combat, puppetry, special effects makeup, and more! Following lunch—provided by the student—students will rehearse Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr. from 1:00pm-5:00pm.

Journey “under the sea” with Ariel and her aquatic friends in Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR., adapted from Disney’s Broadway production and the motion picture (featuring the enormously popular Academy Award-winning music and delightfully charming book and lyrics). Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories, Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR. is an enchanting look at the sacrifices we all make for love and acceptance.

In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home — and her fins — behind and live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she’s the girl whose enchanting voice he’s been seeking.

Written to flow seamlessly between land and sea, Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR. provides plenty of opportunities to bring these locations to life through creative movement and configurations. The fantasy of being underwater means your entire cast and crew can let their imaginations run wild. Performances will be held at the State Theatre on July 31st, August 1st and 2nd, 2026.

Tuition is $475. Need-based financial assistance and payment plans are available. Parents who enroll two or more siblings receive a 25% tuition discount. For Students age 7-18. Please contact us at info@baystreetplayers.org or 352.357.7777 for more information.

1. ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND RELEASE.

In consideration of my child(ren) being permitted to participate in any of the programs, productions, performances, or other activities of Bay Street Players, Inc.—including, but not limited to, Main Stage, Second Stage and/or Young People’s Theatre—and being permitted to enter The State Theatre for that purpose. I represent and covenant that (i) I know my child’s/children’s experience and capabilities and believe him/her/them to be qualified to participate in the program, productions, performances, and other activities of Bay Street Players, Inc. (ii) I have inspected The State Theatre and accept it in its present “as is” condition. (iii) I fully understand and will instruct my child/children that participation in the programs, productions, performances, and other activities of Bay Street Players, Inc., involves risks including but not limited property damage and loss, physical injury, disability, illness and death. I hereby consent to my child’s participation in the programs, productions, performances, and other activities of Bay Street Players, Inc., and I accept and assume all risks, known and unknown arising out of or related to that participation, and assume all responsibility for all losses, costs and damages resulting from any property damage or loss, injury, disability, illness or death, arising out of or related to that participation, even if caused, in whole or part, by the negligence of Bay Street Players Inc,. And its employees, agents, officers, directors, personnel and volunteers who are citing on its behalf ( collectively “BSP”). I hereby consent not to sue, release, and discharge BSP of and from all liability to me, my spouse, my child, my and my child’s personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin, from any and all claims, demands, losses, or damages on account of any of those risks and the resulting property damage and loss, injury, disability, illness or death. I hereby further agree that this assumption and release is intended to be a broad and inclusive as is permitted by the laws of the State of Florida and that if any portion hereof is held invalid, the balance shall continue in full force and effect. If, despite this assumption and release, I, my child/children, or anyone on my child’s behalf, makes a claim against BSP, I agree to defend, indemnify, and save and hold harmless BSP from any litigation expenses, attorney fees, loss, liability, damage, or cost that may incur arising out of any claim made against them. Whether such claim is based on the negligence of BSP or otherwise.

2. AUTHORIZATION OF PHOTOGRAPHS, RECORDINGS, LIKENESS.

I irrevocably permit, consent to, and authorize Bay Street Players, Inc., and its employees, agents, officer, directors, personnel, and volunteers who are acting on its behalf (collectively “BSP”) to (i) photograph my child/children, (ii) video and audio record my child/children, and (iii) reproduce, copyright publish, distribute or otherwise use those photographs, recordings, or other likeness of my child/children for purposes related to the mission, business, and activities of BSP, including publicity, marketing, and promotion of BSP and its various programs, productions and performances. I understand my child’s photographs, recordings, or likeness may be copies and distributed by means of various media, including video presentations, television, newsletters, mailings, billboards or signs, brochures, emails, placement on BSP’s websites, or newspapers. I also understand the BSP cannot guarantee that any further dissemination of my child’s photograph or likeness will be subject to BSP’s supervision or control. Accordingly, I release BSP from any and all liability related to the use or dissemination of my child’s/children’s photograph, recordings, or likeness.

In the event that the emergency contacts cannot be reached, I authorize and consent to my child being treated by emergency medical services and at the nearest hospital at my/our expense. I understand that BSP does not provide or maintain medical or health insurance for my child and that I am responsible for all insurance coverage and medical cost. 6. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF ARRIVAL, DEPARTURE, AND PRESENCE AT THE STATE THEATRE

I acknowledge and agree that Bay Street Players, Inc., and its employees, agents, officers, directors, personnel, and volunteers who are acting on its behalf (collectively “BSP”) are not responsible for and do not monitor, regulate, or control my child’s/children’s presence at The State Theater or the arrival or departure of my child/children from The State Theatre. I affirm that my child is free to enter and leave The State Theatre before, during, and after their participation in the programs, productions, performances, or other activities of Bay Street Players, Inc., (including but not limited to Main Stage, Second Stage, and/or Young People’s Theatre) without supervision or involvement of BSP. I acknowledge and agree I will solely responsible for (i) my child’s presence, arrival, and departure from The State Theatre and (ii) ensuring my child’s safety related to that presence, arrival, and departure. In so agreeing, I understand that The State Theatre is located on a high traffic road in a commercial downtown area of the City of Eustis and is open to the public. As a result, I assume all risks associated with my child’s/children’s presence, arrival, and departure from The State Theatre and release BSP from any and all liability related thereto.
